Upon All The Noise Npp has Gone To IMF, What Are We Going To Say again?– Kennedy Agyapong

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin North, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong is quizzing the campaign message for 2024 when the Npp government has taken the Country to the International Monetary Fund for economic assistance.

The NPP in opposition loudly accused the then ruling party and the Mahama led administration of economic mismanagement and incompetence.

According to the controversial MP, any Government that has taken it upon itself to condemn the seeking of a bailout from the International funding system but eventually goes there for the same purpose is visionless.

Speaking in a press conference, he added that he chews back his words he made against the former president, John Dramani Mahama when he went to the IMF for help to run the country.

The ruling New Patric Party (NPP) under the leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, a few months ago devised and executed a new avenue of procuring revenue for the state.

Despite the controversies that surrounded the proposal of the E-Levy and uneasiness on the part of the many Ghanaians toward it, it was still passed.

Electronic Transaction Levy (commonly known as Electronic Levy or E-levy) is a tax applied on transactions made on electronic or digital platforms

However, a few months after the E-Levy was implemented, the government disclosed that it has not been able to meet its entire purpose because many businesses have collapsed and the masses also stopped using mobile money for transactions.

These actions have forced the Government to run back to the IMF after declaring that nothing will make them go back to the IMF.

Adding his voice to the already numerous controversies that the IMF decision has stimulated, Kennedy Agyapong expressed his disappointment in the Government for running back to the IMF for a bailout.Watch the video below:
