Early last Sunday morning, heavy gunfire boomed around Guinea’s capital. Then, on social media, images of the West African country’s president being detained by men dressed in military fatigues circulated on the international media.
Finally, on state television, the chief of Guinea’s special forces proclaimed that the constitution, government, and institutions had been abolished because he pulled off a coup.
President Akufo Addo, ECOWAS’ chair, has commented on the issue and censured it to the highest degree by requesting President Alpha Conde’s physical safety.
Ace Ghanaian seasoned broadcaster Captain Smart, who also has a special interest in politics, is the latest famed Ghanaian figure to comment on this saga
While speaking on ONUA TV’s Maakye earlier this morning, Captain Smart projected that Africa is no safer; hence, there will be many coups in the coming years.
He also predicted that Africa would see more bloodshed between 2019 and 2030, similar to what is currently occurring in Guinea.
He believes that the fresh wind of revolution blowing through Africa will be accompanied by violence but that Africa would enter a new era.
However, he reiterated his warning that everyone living in Africa should be cautious because the continent will no longer be safe from 2019 to 2030
