A 25 year old Francis Amankwa, an Immigration Officer has met his untimely death owing to a collapsed building on Saturday at Elubo, Ghana – Ivory coast boarder town.
Source indicates that he was fast asleep in his room when the building collapsed on him around 12 am .
A heavy downpour from the evening till midnight caused the the building to collapse as it may have weaken the foundation of the structure.
“The building had no cracks on it wall, the heavy rain which started from the evening into the night weakened the foundation. And where his bed was broke and a brick hit his head.
People noticed the house has collapsed around 2am so they called fire service, his colleague immigration officers and the police and was rushed to the hospital and was pronounced dead” a reporter accounted.
His remain is posit at St. Martin de Porres Hospital, Eikwe.
It has been established that he hails from the Bono region. Leader of the Ghana Immigration Service has contacted his families for further formalities.
He joined the service 2 years ago.
