The deputy minister for roads and highways Stephen Pambinn Jalulah has in a recent statement called for Ghanaians to be ready for an increment in the taxes been paid at the toll boots should they want their roads to be fixed.
According to the minister, the increment in the money taken at the toll booths would go a long way to help the government create more roads.
These charges come after the government is trying to find ways and means to finance the country’s poor road network.
“A saloon car in Ghana pays just 50ps when he passes by the toll booth but in other countries more is been paid with the minimum been GH5 and that is the right thing to be done since everyone wants a good rood.” He stated.
He further added that tho the minority in parliament has revealed that it would fail to approve any increment in tolls the country cannot continue borrowing money to do projects when we can as a country together do it on our own.
