John Mahama’s running mate, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has revealed that she will never run away from a debate should incase one is organized for her and Dr Bawumia.
According to her, the late Vice President Aliu Mahama was not an economist but merged with former President John Agyekum Kufuor to successfully rule Ghana for eight years.
During an appearance on GHOne TV yesternight, the NDC running mate said;
My critics are mostly NPP, in their own party, they have had Aliu Mahama was he an economist? The Veep chairs police cancel, must I be a security man? I’m not an economist but I understand the economy. Why, is it a requirement that the veep must be an economist? since when did that become part of it
He further added that;
…Why not? And if he debates on the economy, I will debate him on literature…
Prior to this from the academician, NPP had a honourably declined a debate proposal from John Mahama on infrastructural development.
According to some NPP members, Nana Addo’s decision not to debate John Mahama is a payback to what the NDC lead member did to Nana Addo 2016 when then-candidate Nana Akufo-Addo called for a similar debate.
