Ghana Movie Industry Was Depressing – Beverly Afaglo

Ghanaian actress and wife of musician Choirmaster, Beverly Afaglo has revealed that she used to feel depressed about the current state of the movie industry in Ghana.

In spite of constant efforts to revive the movie industry, things haven’t changed much – we would agree – and it makes us wonder how most of these actors and actresses suffer.

Many have argued that a major cause of this is the influx of telenovelas and less content to feed the Ghanaian market.

Well, Beverly Afaglo, also an actress, has revealed that the movie industry at a time depressed her.

The actress made this statement while she was talking about her career to Lexis Bill on ‘Behind the Fame’ which is a segment on ‘the Drive Time show’ on Joy FM.

She added that aside acting she has other businesses that keep her occupied.

“I was depressed about the situation, back to back. But i don’t really… I am not thinking about that like i used to, because I was. It used to worry me, but right now we’ve all ventured into different things. I do other things so i get occupied, unlike previously where you have to wait for a producer to get a script for you. You can be depressed.”
