The 2019 edition of the annual VGMA – Vodafone Ghana Music Awards has been scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 18.
The event is expected to begin at exactly 8 pm at the Fantasy Dome in Accra. Red carpet is expected to begin around 7 : 30 pm.
The hosts of the VGMA 2019 has not yet been released but the organizers promised to pull a show that will surpass those of the previous years in their quest to make their 20 years anniversary a special one.
Charter House, the organizer of the annual Vodafone Music Awards VGMA 2019, on March 15, 2019 released the full list of nominations for the 2019 edition of the award ceremony.
Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Samini and others earned for themselves nominations in the 20th edition of the award scheme. Joe Mettle, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Kuami Eugene, King Promise, and Shatta Wale will be competing for the ultimate Artiste of the Year award.
CEO of Charter House, Theresa Ayoade, has said that large numbers of music fans are expected to throng this year’s event and she’s confident that with the support of the Government, a more suitable venue would be provided to host the event.
“One of the big issues that has plagued this event over the years is the venue in which we hold the event. As the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards has grown over the years so have our fans and unfortunately we have not been able to accommodate a lot of you due to the limited capacity of the venue,” she said.
