Out of the 8 new artists who were shortlisted for the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Unsung category rapper Kula has been adjourned the winner.

Coming from the back of an impressive 2018, the muurder rapper joins other known names including MzVee, Adomaa, Kuami Eugene and Kelvynboy to have won the unsung category.

During the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Nominees jam in Kumasi , Kula proved that indeed he was worthy of the nomination

The young rapper was able to control and dictate his use of the live band to perform rap songs which many would have mimed

Kula being the winner of that category will be given the opportunity to perform and prove to the world he truly deserved the award at the biggest music event in the country (VGMA) tonight.

Kula emerged as winner of the 2019 VGMA Unsung artiste over the likes of OV, Mr. Drew, Efe Keyz, Unyx, Mantse AY, Lycon and ScripT

The success stories of past winners are a testimonial to the category’s relevance and its potential in helping upcoming artists to breakthrough the music barrier into mainstream Ghanaian music.

Kuami Eugene and Kelvynboy used the opportunity to fully establish themselves as mainstream artistes which has gotten them 2019 VGMA nominations in the numerous categories including the Artiste of the Year and the New Artiste of the Year respectively.

The Unsung category which was sponsored by CloseUp according to the organizers was created to help project artistes who are doing well but have not had the mainstream exposure.
