UPDATE: President Akufo-Addo extends ban on public and social gathering

Government has extended the ban on social gatherings to the end of May as the number of novel coronavirus infections in the country continues to rise.

President Akufo-Addo announced this in his ninth address since the outbreak of the disease in Ghana.

The restrictions imposed on public gatherings, under EI 64, have been extended for a further period of three more weeks, effective from 1 am (GMT) on Monday, May 11, 2020.

This means, no conferences, schools will still be closed, no workshops, no parties, no events, no funerals, with the exception of private funerals that will see not more than 25 persons in attendance until May 31st 2020.

This according to the President will aid in the fight against the deadly coronavirus.
