Ghanaian entertainment critic, Emmanuel Barnes, better known as Mr. Logic, in one of his controversial comments on the radio, has critised the popular TikTok app.
Tiktok has been a tool of comparism for radio and TV after Tiktoker Asantewaa on United Showbiz Said Showbiz is the new tool for music promotion in Ghama. Mr. Logic clearly seems to disagree with the professional nurse, as he says Tiktok would have been an irreverent app if not for the dancing and singing.
In his own words, he said:
Because the radio did not play them, certain songs that are being dramatized on TikTok do not cross international borders. Although that isn’t always the case, radio is important.
TikTok, radio, and other venues are necessary for the marketing of our songs. The only people that add interest to TikTok are the dancers.
What remains when dance and music are removed is “gyimie”.
