If animals had the chance to speak audibly to humans, they would’ve labelled us as the most insensitive and selfish creatures ever created. Perhaps, this phenomenon is predominant because the Creator made us masters over all other creatures. So the only thing we think about (as humans) is how to use other creatures like trees, animals, rocks, etc to our human benefits to the detriment of the other creatures.

Renown Nigerian media personality, Funmi Iyanda has reacted to photos of a starving lion and dozens of underfed animals at a zoo in Kaduna, Nigeria.

The socialite who tagged the practice as a “strong society metaphor”, sounded quite vexed. She added that, ”caging something so powerful and beautiful, reduces it to an unrecognisable version of itself until it dies is typical mindless cruelty.”

Her tweet read;

Such a strong society metaphor. Cage something so powerful and beautiful, reduce it to an unrecognisable version of itself until it dies is typical mindless cruelty. The mindlessness is what makes it so effective because the cruelty is unplanned, slow and casual. It just is.
