Mr. Marvin Ankomah Boateng the District Environmental officer of Tain has urged the residents of Seikwa to stop dumping refuse in an improper fashion.
He declared this concern during a Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources (MSWR) nationwide refuse dump evacuation exercise that is ongoing.
Mr. Marvin made it clear that the development of an area or community depends of health therefore the residents of Sekwa should make it a priority to keep the environment clean.
In his statement he assured the people that the evacuation exercise that initially took off in 2009 will benefit the populace of the district immensely.
He made it known that the actions being taken to evacuate dumpsites in the district was a proactive act because they need not wait for things to escalate before taking drastic measures.
Mr. Marvin promised to solicit to the government to provide waste bins needed in the district.
His further vision after the exercise was to collaborate with the assembly man Honorable Eric Yeboah to educate the residents on the importance of hygiene.
Mr. Oppong Andrews ,The Director of National Disaster Management Organization, Tain District also said the were plans to give the district waste bins to promote proper disposal of waste.
He added that the spread disease will be put under control if these measurers are put in place.
