Sarkodie in a recent interview with revealed that Shatta’s feature with Beyonce bagged him an Afrobeat contract with a certain company that was in dilemma over the relevance of the music genre.
According to the rapper, the company was dragging its feet on sealing the contract with him. But they hastily inked the deal with him after Shatta Wale’s feature with Beyonce which was an Afrobeats song dropped the same week.
He said the song sent a message to the company that the ‘Afrobeats’ genre is big and surprisingly, Sarkodie noted that the deal which was delayed got signed.
“So I was out of the country to sign a deal which was dragging for days. I had the deal with some white people. The same week Beyonce released her song with Shatta Wale and after that, the people who were dragging their feet signed the deal for me,” He told Dentaa.
