A security man has been arrested and jailed by an Accra circuit court for kissing and removing the panties of an 8-year-old girl.
The security man named pleaded not guilty to his charge of indecent assault but at the end of the trial the court, presided by Mrs Christiana Cann Adomako, found him guilty and sentenced him one year imprisonment accordingly.
Chief Inspector Kofi Atimbire who happened to be the prosecutor said the father of the victim, a resident of East Legon in the Greater Accra Region, was the complainant in the case.
The father explained that the incident happened on March 10, 2020, around 8:am after both parents and household left home with the child left behind with her 11 years elder sister.
He said the security man who resides int he same neighbourhood was asked to safeguard the house while the parents of the girl and the househelp were away from home, Adomako kissed her and pulled her pants.
Atimbire added the victim, sensing danger screamed and ran to her 11-year older sister, who was in one of the rooms of the house and informed her about Adomako’s conduct.
The sister informed his father on his return, after which he reported the case to the police and sent her to the health facility to receive care.
