Yesterday, the president of Ghana, H.E Nana Akufo-Addo addressed the nation for the seventh time since the deadly coronavirus broke out in Ghana.
The President imposed some strict measures to help fight the deadly virus. With the help of a legislative instrument, the president implemented a lockdown, closure of border, and imposed a ban on all social gatherings.
However, the first gentleman of the land, Nana Addo, lifted the imposed partial lockdown on Greater Accra, and the Ashanti Region, but refused to open borders.
Rather, Nana Addo announced the extension of the closure of Ghana’s borders, which means no one leaves, and neither does anyone enter any of the entry points to the country.
A young man, during the president’s seventh address, was seen in the comment section of the President’s live broadcast begging the president to open the borders just for two days.
According to the social media who has been identified as Bra Ice, he has to go to Benin and visit his mallam within two days else he will go mad.
He wrote; “Ibeg open borders, I wan go see my mallam for Benin.. By two days I’ll go mad if I don’t.”

One cannot tell whether the young man’s plea is a legitimate one or not, but there is a popular belief that most sakawa boys go to Benin to perform rituals and now that borders have been closed things have become tougher for them.
We pray nothing bad happens to him if indeed he’s supposed to see his mallam in Benin, because that will be impossible for him.
