Ghanaian scientists to lead manufacturing of covid-19 vaccine in Africa – Nana Akufo-Addo (video)
The president of Ghana, H.E Nana Akufo has announced Government of Ghana’s support towards Africa’s agenda to manufacture a covid-19 vaccine.
Exactly a week ago, Gossips24.com reported on scientists of Ghana discovering the genome sequence of the virus responsible for the spread of the deadly COVID-19 disease.
President Akufo Addo congratulated the scientists as he hoped this step could lead to something miraculous in Africa with the help of God.
Speaking at Today’s address to the nation on efforts to combat the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic, Nana Akufo-Addo revealed that there is a need for Africa to invest in science and trust its scientists.
The president believes that this will aid Africa manufacture a vaccine that will save the whole world.
Nana Akufo-Addo pledged his support for the African Vaccine Manufacturing initiative which is chaired by Noguchi‘s Professor William Ampofo to promote the agenda for vaccine development in Africa, by Africa for the world.
