Retired Midwife Arrested Along With Three Others For Stealing Babies

The National Investigative Bureau(NIB) has been said to have arrested a retired midwife along with some three others for engaging in the stealing and selling of babies.

The incident which took place at Atuabo and Half Assin in the Western Region has been said to have led to them being processed to court where they were remanded into the custody of the NIB

According to reports, the four culprits happen to be Cynthia Beyeden, a 63-year-old Retired Midwife/ Nurse, Sylvester Quashie Nyamekeh, a mason, Ediemu Bozoma, a 55-year-old trader, Cynthia Quashie, private security, and one Mr. Quashie now at large.

Led Prosecutor of the case Chief Inspector Simon Apiosornu was said to have pleaded with the court to remand them into custody as they did more investigations into the matter.

According to reports, the NIB found out about the illegal being done by the people after Sylvester Quarshie Nyamekeh, was arrested whiles trying to offer a seven-month baby boy for sale at GH¢80,000.00 at Atuabo.

He was said to have named the retired midwife as his source of getting the children which led to her also being arrested along with the two others while one is still on the run.
