On August 7, 2020, we reported that the owner and administrator of the popular Ghanaian pornographic website, empressleak.biz has been arrested by the Cyber Crime Unit of Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service.
Owner of the website, Anderson Ofosuhene Anim alias Mario Gee was arrested over charges of money laundering, pornography and breach of provisions on cybercrime.
The prosecution revealed that Mr Anim’s website came under scrutiny from the police for publishing pornographic material of Ghanaians on their blindside.
The prosecution added that he took money from victims to take down their videos or pictures from his website but refused to do so.
He reportedly took between GHC100 or GHC500 through mobile money to take down the contents but the contents persisted on the internet.
