If you are really active on social media, then you might have seen photos of Kaybos, Bibi Bright, and Prince David Osei who are colleagues of John Dumelo in the movie industry campaigning vigorously at Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency for the actor’s opponent, Lydia Alhassan.
Photos of these actors went viral on various social media platforms for unexpected campaign for Madam Lydia Alhassan with just a few days to the elections.
Ghanaians, have in one way or the other passed their verdict but per what I have personally observed, especially on social media, all I can is that I am highly disappointed!
To start with, shortly after the photos of these actors went viral, Ghanaian actress cum TV presenter, Beverly Afaglo Baah unnecessarily ranted over claims that Kalybos and his clique have been paid to tarnish the image of John Dumelo.
Next is former employee of TV3, Bridget Otoo, whom I thought would reason enough before spewing trash and calling these actors daft for not rallying behind John Dumelo – As it stands now, she is actually DAFT!
Personally, I find the comments of Bridget and Beverly as very unfortunate and empty! What happened to democracy?, what happened to free choice?
We all understand that John Dumelo is an actor who has turned into a full-time politician but must Ghanaians support anyone out of nepotism? Hell no!
The fact that he’s an actor does not mean actors, to the extend of movie directors and producers, should rally behind him.
For instance, actor Prince David Osei and actress Bibi Bright have also been campaigning massively for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to retain power in the forthcoming elections.
In light of that, should actors and actresses in the movie industry support them just because of their political affiliation? No right? Yeah lol
I’m emphasizing; “Actors must not support another actor politically just because he’s an actor.”
