Braimah, executive director of the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), believes that the National Cathedral will be Ghana’s worst financial loss.
He thinks the initiative will end up being a complete waste of time and money.
His main concern isn’t the money spent on the cathedral itself, but rather the citizen’s homes and facilities that had to be demolished to make space for it.
This was made public by Sulemana Braimah via a tweet he sent out.
Without mincing words he said “Ghana’s National Cathedral Project may be the largest financial loss to the state in the history of Ghana. It’s probably going to be a complete waste of time and money. Millions of dollars aren’t the only thing that’ll be lost. State-of-the-art state facilities and luxury state houses will also be discussed”
A letter from the Finance Ministry stated that the government had provided GHC 25 million as seed cash for the National Cathedral.
There is mis understanding because the government had previously stated that the building would be funded by private donations. President Akufo-personal Addo’s promises to God is the building of the Cathedral.
