Famed highly opinionated Ghanaian lawyer, Mr Maurice Ampaw, has strongly opined that our current crop of lawmakers are immature and thus they lack the basic knowledge and integrity which one needs to qualify as a legislator.
Lawyer Maurice Ampaw’s arguable claims were backed by the mayhem which erupted in the parliament’s floor during the dissolution of the 7th parliament and the inauguration of its 8th sessions.
According to the outspoken legal practitioner, the fallout in Parliament that saw some MPs assaulting each other and acting unruly in the house before the new Speaker of Parliament was elected is a clear indication that Ghana’s “Parliament needs deliverance”.
In line with what Lawyer Maurice said on live TV, most of our present lawmakers don’t even know the do’s and don’ts of parliament.
During an appearance on Wontumi TV over the weekends, he applauded former President Akufo-Addo, the current speaker-Alban Bagbin, E.T Mensah and the late J.H Mensah for comporting themselves in the legislative house during their MP days.
