I’ve not received a dime since my appointment – Amidu exposes gov’t

Ghana’s former Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu has said that he and his Deputy have not been paid since they were appointed to the office to help fight corruption in Ghana.

This was disclosed by the Anti-Corruption crusader in a statement to announce his resignation from the office he occupied for two years.

He said “It is essential for me to state for the purpose of the records, and contrary to public perceptions, that my appointment letter was received on 5th February 2020 (almost two (2)-years after my appointment). The copy addressees made no efforts to honour any of the conditions of appointment in terms of emoluments and benefits of the appointment ever since my warrant of appointment was issued on 23rd February 2018 to the date of my letter of resignation”.

Martin Amidu indicated that he has never mentioned this fact because he is not moved by emoluments but by the work he was appointed to do.
