Ghanaian businessman and owner of the defunct UT Bank Capt. Prince Kofi Amoabeng (Rtd) has come out to speak about his bank and how he used to take in alcohol to take back money from people who owed them money.
Capt. Prince Kofi Amoabeng (Rtd) who was speaking during an interview with Kwame Sefa Kai on Peace FM’s flagship program ‘Kokrokoo’ revealed that he used to seize the cars of many after they default on the loans they owe.
According to him he sometimes drinks a lot of alcoholic drinks before he faces some people who choose to ignore the terms of their contract before coming in for the loan from UT Bank.
he further went ahead to add that one of the terms for those who come for loans is that they must register the name of their cars in the name of the UT bank so whenever they fail to pay the loan then they take the car because it becomes more of the property of the bank.
“One thing I used to do is that if you don’t come to redeem yourself and I come to your house to meet your absence, I will search for where they sell Guinness and strategically sit there watching your gate. If you’re lucky and I drink one or two, then it means I am not drank yet, but if you keep long and I gulp about four or five bottles, then you are in trouble when I find you,” he said.
