Ghanaian-South African singer, Adina Thembi Ndamse better known by her stage name Adina, has explained on Cosmopolitan Mix show on Joy FM why she has stopped singing at churches.
It is widely known that most of these artists developed and nurtured their talents in churches. The likes of Kuami Eugene, Akwaboah, Kwesi Arthur among others used to sing at Churches.
The news on Adina sounds strange as she is reported to have said she won’t provide her services in the church anymore.
But the explanation she gave to host of the Cosmopolitan Mix, Mamavi actually makes sense. She said:
“I don’t sing in church anymore but i still go to Church anytime i’m not that busy, reason being before they would allow me to sing, then i have to go for rehearsals and what have you, and you know this music business- Fridays, Saturdays i’m occupied most of the time, and i don’t have that much time to go for rehearsals but whenever the opportunity presents itself I will.”
Adina who loves to act as well, was asked to choose between music and acting to which she said: “Acting to me will be like going out to a party and having a good time. Music is definitely my first love.“
