Government Will Arrest People Who Defecate Openly At Beaches – Nana Akufo Addo

The President of Ghana, H.E Nana Akufo Addo, during the reading of the State of The Nation’s Address, stated that government is going to arrest people who defecate at beaches.

The act of defecating openly has been criticized times without number. Most often than not, culprits find ways and means of escaping the law and repeating the act which has become a canker over and over again.

This shameful act of defecating openly at beaches is highly practiced in Chorkor, James town, Cape Coast and other coastal areas here in Ghana.

As government tries to fight the act, the President of Ghana, H.E Nana Akufo Addo, during the reading of the state of the nations address, aired that, in government’s quest to promote and tourism, one of the key areas it is going to pay attention to is the situation at the beaches.

He revealed that government through local authorities, is going to enact by-laws, to warrant security personnel the power to arrest individuals who defecate openly.

The President also added that people who liter and steal dust bins will be punished to improve sanitation.

I personally think, this is a good call by the government and a step in the right direction, what do you also think?
