Renowned Highlife Artiste, Nana Amo Agyemang, known professionally as Nana Amo has called on Government and MUSIGA to come to the aid of highlife musicians.
Highlife, the indigenous music of Ghana has over the time been less patronized by most Ghanaians though it takes us back to our roots.
Artistes flagging the genre often give up in the process since investors are not willing to invest in the sector as dancehall, afrobeat, hiplife, and rap music takes over.
With this and many others left for Ghanaians and music enthusiasts as well as investors to discuss, MUSIGA becomes the only body to address issues to.
Well, renowned highlife artiste, ‘Ike Kaa’, now Nana Amo, has revealed MUSIGA is one of the reasons why highlife music has failed over the years.
According to the Odo Bekume hit singer in an interview with Don Stiga monitored by Gossips24 on Atinka Fm, most highlife artistes give up because the government and MUSIGA do not support these highlife musicians.
He revealed that Highlife Music will only survive if the government and MUSIGA make it lucrative by putting in place proper structures such as the organization’s own media outlets which will solely promote the indigenous music.
