Richard Appiah Gyamfi who made headlines about three days ago after allegedly k!lling three boys in his area is not an architect as earlier reported according to the Ghana Institute of Architects.

Ghana Institute of Architects (GIA) has authoritatively stated that Richard Appiah, the suspect whose atrocious case is currently being handled by the CID’s headquarters in Accra police detention for the alleged murder of three people in Abesim, Sunyani Municipality, doesn’t hold any form qualification to be deemed as an architect.

This information was communicated to the general public by the Ghana Institute of Architects through a press statement the building body dropped into the media.

The statement reads;

The Ghana Institute of Architects would like to categorically state that Richard Appiah is NOT an Architect. The ARCHITECTS ACT 1969 (N.L.C.D 357), Section 10, qualifications, states: ’10. Qualifications: Subject to section 11, a person is registered as an Architect on payment of the prescribed fee if that person is a member of the Institute,” the statement read in part.

[An Architect] is a person who was a member of the Ghana Institute of Architects immediately before the commencement of this Act.

In accordance with the laws of Ghana governing Architects and architecture, Richard Appiah DOES NOT satisfy any of the above provisions of the ARCHITECTS ACT, 1969 (N.L.C.D 357).

Richard Appiah Gyamfi was nabbed by the police for murdering 12 and 15-year boys and a yet-to-be-identified man whose body parts were found in his living quarters at Alaska near Abesim on Friday, August 20, 2021.
