#ElClasico: Real Madrid trash Barcelona at Santiago Bernabeu

Real Madrid have beaten fierce rival, Barcelona 2-0 in Sunday’s explosive El-Clasico at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium to go top of La Liga.

It was the second leg of the El-Clasico, the first leg having ended 0-0 at Nou Camp, Barcelona.

The game lived up to expectation, with both sides trying to score an early goal, but the first half ended goalless.

Madrid were the most adventurous side, losing several scoring chances to go ahead.

Brazilian young star, Vinicius Junior was Barcelona’s tormentor, with his runs and skills causing Barcelona much headache.

Then, the moment came on 71st minute as the Brazilian youngster broke the deadlock to make himself a hero.

Toni Kroos fed him down the left, he ghosts in behind Martin Braithwaite. The winger was in lots of space as he cut into the box, he powered his shot in, which was deflected by Gerard Pique and flied past Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

The young lad then celebrated his goal in Cristiano Ronaldo’s style.

Madrid mounted more pressure on Barcelona and super sub, Mariano, ended Barca’s hope of coming back with a superb strike on added time.

Mariano had been on the pitch a couple of seconds before he beat Samuel Umtiti for pace on the right wing. He slipped as he shot from a tight angle but his shot went through Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
