Following the #Fixthecountry demonstration that came off last Wednesday, August 4th 2021, Ghana’s current veep  Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia has subtly jabbed the #FixTheCountry campaigners by stating that all the important things in the country have been fixed.

The former deputy governor of the Bank of Ghana made this doubtful assertion over the weekend at the University of Cape Coast in the Central Region, whiles addressing the leadership and members of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON), the NPP’s student wing.

Dr Bawumia bragged that the Akufo-Addo-led government completed “competent” work throughout its first term, resulting in victory in the December 7, 2020 elections.

He said;

We have begun our second term which is a build-up on what we did in the first term,” he noted.

As our 2020 manifesto indicated, this term will see to the consolidation of the many laudable initiatives we undertook in the first term, many of which have led to solutions that have never been seen since independence

He further implied that many of the problems the government inherited are being addressed by the present administration’s policies and programs.

We have implemented some bold policy initiatives and fixed quite a number of things that needed fixing. In fact, we have fixed many things in the country and we are fixing more.”

Ladies and gentlemen, as indicated earlier, many of these challenges we have fixed had not been addressed since independence

Dr Bawumai ended his submissions by pinpointing policies and programs including the Free SHS, banking sector clean-up, reinstatement of teacher and nurse trainee allowances, ambulances for each constituency, digitalization agenda, One District One Factory, jobs, and an end to dumsor as being fixed, if not already fixed, by the ruling administration.
