Comedian Derick Kobina Bonney, also known as DKB, has criticized the Narcotic Control Commission and other state agencies for their inconsistent approach to confiscating and disposing of Indian hemp.
In response to a viral news video showing large quantities of Indian hemp, heroin, and cocaine being destroyed under the supervision of the Judicial Service, Police, and the Narcotic Control Commission at the seashore, DKB raised questions about the logic behind this action.
He wondered why authorities would arrest individuals caught smoking Indian hemp, which is against the law, but openly destroy it through burning, with residents along the seashore inhaling the very smoke people are warned against.
DKB argued that the smoke from the burning of these confiscated narcotic drugs has serious health repercussions for residents living near the sites where the drugs are destroyed.
The comedian supported his argument by pointing out the posture of a news reporter in the viral video, who, according to him, looked hyper and dazed by the smoke from the burnt narcotic substances.
Some of his followers on Instagram also expressed similar sentiments, with others making fun of the idea that even the sea creatures would be affected by the smoke.
