On Sunday the 3rd of July, 2022, the residents of Apremdo in the western region of Ghana discovered a black sticky substance believed to be crude oil.
The traditional ruler in the area, Nana Egya Kwamena XI of the town, has taken up the matter as he reveals they are investigating to find out if it is really crude oil.
The Chief of the town Nana Egya Kwamena Xl said as per a video obtained from Joy Oline:
“This is a material that is emerging from Apremdo’s earth. On Monday, we’re bringing a sample to Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) for testing in the lab, “he stated.
The chief and his elders are hopeful that the material will prove to be a significant carbon resource, particularly crude oil or mineral resources that may help to change the region in terms of development.
We’re eager to learn the results of the test we plan to conduct with Tema Oil Refinery.
