Her Honour Mercy Adei-Kotei a judge at the koforidua circuit court has granted 26 herdsmen who were caught onboard a Toyota Tacoma pick-up with registration number AW 983-20, Ford Pick Up with registration number GE 7066-11, and motor tricycle with registration number M-21-EN 635 filled with ammunitions bail.
According to report the police patrol in Donkorkrom led by DSP Lovelace Kofi Glago had a tipoff about some men carrying guns which resulted in them intercepting them and arresting all 26 men.
The 26 men’s name were revealed as Sariki Iddrisu Sambo , Issak Ali ,Aliu Waale , Abubakari Mohammed , Umaro Balla, Aliu Umaro, Abubakari Ibrahim , Ibrahim Abubakari, Abdulai Madela Usumanu Umaro Dandaade Abass Umaro, Waale Sindoh , Mohammed Abubakari , Amadu Issah , Umaro Bawa , Mohammed Abubakari Jamalla, Alhaji Umaro Mohammed , Mohammed Bello, Sulley Usmanu , Abass Ibrahim, Alhaji Umaro Mohammed , Usuman Umaro and Sumani Abubakari.
Charged with seven-count of offences, only one which was the unlawful assembly was proceeded to be used but were granted bail with each of the 26 men paying a sum of Ghc100,000 with two sureties each after their defence lawyer revealed that the men were not in good health after been in police custody for over 400 hours.
