State Owned Universities in Nigeria have just reached 50 after the National Universities Commission (NUC) approved the Confluence University of Science and Technology in Osara, to become one.
The announcement was made by Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, the Executive Secretary of the NUC.
He thanked the Government of Kogi State, where the University is located, for their contribution to education in the state and pledged support from the NUC to the school.
Accoording to him, all the necessary education institutions including the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, the National Youth Service Corps and the Tertiary Education Trust Fund have been duly informed about the approval.
