“Take permission from us before operating in our states” – Southern Governors tell Nigerian Security agencies

The Southern Governors‘ Forum, SGF, have communicated on Monday 5th July 2021 during their closed-door meeting that any law enforcement agency conducting an operation in any of the South’s states must obtain permission from the state governor.

Because state governors serve as the state’s chief security officer.

The SGF also insisted that the country’s next president should come from the South.

The forum, however, refused to comment on the recent arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, and the attack on Yoruba freedom fighter, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.
