Nigerian socialite, author and legal practitioner – Reno Omokri, has once again sparked controversies with his new tweet.
The “no-nonsense” dude who recently dared any side chick who feels he has ever bonged before after he got married to his wife to expose him has once again made a damning comment about marriage with ‘non-virgins’. According to the self-styled relationship expert, chaste women are those who deserve bride price and not those who lost their virginity way before they met their future husbands.
As if his opinionated stance was not enough, he made referenced the Holy Bible to drum home his point.
In a tweet, Reno quoted the Bible; Exodus 22:16-17 to buttress his ascertain. He opined;
“What I am going to say will shock people. Scripturally, Bride Price is ONLY paid for virgins. Don’t argue with me. Argue with God. See Exodus 22:16 -17. By virtue of Scripture (and also in traditional African society), you pay no Bride Price for non virgins. #RenosNuggets #EndSARS”
For the benefit of the doubt, this is what the Bible says in Exodus 22:16 -17
16 “If a man entices a virgin who is not betrothed, and lies with her, he shall surely pay the bride-price for her to be his wife. 17 If her father utterly refuses to give her to him, he shall pay money according to the bride-price of virgins.
