AirtelTigo Officially Bought By The Government For 1Dollar-Full Details

The government of Ghana has been said to have finally bought all the shares of AirtelTigo along with all customers, assets, and liabilities.

According to reports the company is now a state-owned company and would be making all its revenue for the Government of Ghana.

The takeover of the company was announced in April this year after a regulatory filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange from Bharti Airtel.

Minister of Communication and Digitalization Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful was said to have signed the contract for the takeover on behalf of the country whereas Ms. Jatina Catharina Uneken-van de Vreede, Mr. Martin P Frechette, Mr. Timothy Pennington, Mr. Eric Nana Nipah, and Mr. Vish Ashiagbor signed on behalf of the seller entities.

Tho the exact amount for the buying of the AirtelTigo company is not known Mrs Ursula revealed through a post on Facebook sometime back it cost the country just a dollar.
