About 3 days ago, the death of Nelson Mandela’s daughter, Zindzi Mandela was reported by several media outlets and online news portals.
Zindzi Mandela who had been South Africa’s ambassador to Denmark since 2015 died at the age of 59.
Details of her death remained a bit scanty but her son Zondwa Mandela in an interview with SABC has shed light on it.
In the virtual interview, Zondwa said he cannot authoritatively reveal the cause of her mother’s death as they await autopsy report from the medics.
He however mentions that his mother tested positive for Covid-19 and there is a possibility that she died from Covid-19 related issues.
“Simply by the virtue that there was a positive test, we are therefore obligated to function and work within the framework of the existing regulation related to such cases,” he said.
