The NDC has communicated to their sympathizers in the Volta Region to go out in their numbers to vote.

Reacting to claims that the armed forces has deployed heavy military presence in the region, the party has released a press statement to encourage their zealots not to be intimidated.

We’ve picked up intelligence the number of troops that have been deployed to the Volta Region. It just doesn’t make sense, the people of Volta Region are peace-loving, they are treating them like criminals. Troops upon troops, weapons upon weapons. Well, the same way they were not intimated during the registration exercise, they will not be intimidated by your presence. The people of Volta Region will come out and vote.

“We know of plans to start sporadic shooting at 11am in parts of the Volta Region, 1pm, and 3pm and the idea is to blame the so-called separatist and look at the timing, so when it starts at 11am in certain parts then it will stop, hopefully, they think there will be confusion,” the former Minister of Youth and Sports said.

Elvis Afriyie Ankrah stated “the people of Volta Region you are covered by the blood of Jesus, you are covered by the ancestors, you are covered by the spirits of our fathers gone before us. Go, no bullet will touch you, when you hear the bullet go forward like men and women. Go and vote, don’t stop. They will do it at 1pm and 3pm, all these are meant to delay the voting system so that the people will not come out to vote.”
