Why Kill Yourselves For Politicians? – PPP National Secretary Questions Ghanaians

Ghanaians are still gearing up towards the Dec 7 poll which has been tipped as the most keenly contested General Elections since the inception of the Fourth Republic in 1993. Politicians of all divides have less than one month to galvanize votes from all corners of the country to ensure victory for their respective Presidential candidate and/or Parliamentary candidates.

In all this, peace has become the central message for all stakeholders in the country.

National Secretary of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Paa Ekow Ackon has advised Ghanaians against election violence on Monday, December 7, 2020.

Netizens could recall that there was a violent clash recently between supporters of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) at Jamestown in the Odododiodio constituency.

Speaking on Peace FM’s ‘Kokrokoo’ programme with seasoned journalist  Kwami Sefa Kayi, Paa Ekow Ackon expressed concern over the violent acts.

He urged Ghanaians to eschew chaos and electoral disturbances: and embrace peace. He said;

”Why do you want to kill yourself for a politician? A politician whose child doesn’t even vote, a politician whose child doesn’t go to school in Ghana; why do you want to kill yourself for such a person?”
