The unemployment among Ghanaian nurses has forced Ghanaian journalist Kafui Dey to suggest that we export nurses to countries that are in need of nurses and health workers badly.
According to the former host of Who Wants to be Rich, countries like the UK and EU are in high demand for nurses and health workers, so he suggests that instead of allowing them to sit at home with no employment, why doesn’t the government export them to these countries after working for a period of time in the motherland so that we all gain in the end?
Taking to twitter, he wrote:
So there is high demand for nurses & other health care workers in the UK & EU.We have trained nurses sitting at home in Ghana. How about a policy where we export these nurses, after they have served for at least 5 years in Ghana. We make money from the export, everyone wins.
