We Did Nothing Wrong By Using Our Voices To Convince The President To speak on #EndSARS – Sista Afia defends celebrities

Ghanaian songstress Sista Afia has said she sees nothing wrong with the push by some Ghanaians celebrities to have President Akufo-Addo speak on the #EndSARS protest in Nigeria.

As at yesterday, the Ghanaian Twitter space was buzzing as several celebrities mostly female celebrities called on the president to speak about the recent shootings that transpired in the wake of End SARS protests in Nigeria considering his position as the Chairperson of the ECOWAS.

They made their call off the back of the president’s past remark on global incidents like that of George Floyd.

Therefore, the deafening silence on the #EndSARS protest in Nigeria was deserving of his message, which he did.

Well, after speaking on the issue, some Nigerians have rather turned on Ghana’s president to attack him for what they describe as dishonesty and disservice.

Following that the likes of Nana Aba Anamoah, Yvonne Nelson who were key in the push for President Akufo-Addo to speak on #EndSARS have come under severe fire.

As a result, Sista Afia, who was part of the bandwagon that demanded the president speak, has come out to say they did nothing wrong by asking the President to speak on the issue.

She added that their collective effort helped in getting President Akufo-Addo to speak on the issue thus Ghanaians should not crucify them.
