Viasat 1 TV returns to Ghana; Set to Replace Kwese TV

According to reports circulating online, media network Viasat 1 TV has returned to Ghana.

It is rumored that Viasat 1 after about four years of it’s absence on Ghana media space has made a comeback ‘u-turn’ to take their place.

They are set to replace Kwese TV, the channel that took over in their absence.

It is also alleged that Viasat 1 TV has even started a test transmission.

The acquisition deal was concluded on Friday, December 16, 2016.

Viasat 1 TV’s name was effectively changed to Kwesé Free Sports; a 24-hour sports dedicated channel.

A statement years back indicated that the new channel, under Econoet Media, was to take over all assets of Modern Times Group (MTG), owners of Viasat 1 in Ghana and Nigeria.
