The US embassy in Ghana has postponed all scheduled visa appointments due to the spike in coronavirus active recorded cases.

This information was passed on to the general public with the information that the body has postponed all the scheduled visa appointments as a result of the current conditions of increasing positive COVID-19 cases and death tolls in the country.

According to the embassy, their priority in taking this decision comes down to consideration for health of their staffs and visa applicants.

The press release statement reads;

The ongoing pandemic and current conditions in Ghana have compelled the postponement of some scheduled visa appointments. U.S. embassy Accra regrets the difficulties that the change in appointment date brings and we have for those hoping to travel soon to the United States

Please understand that these decisions are not taken lightly and it is our sincere hope that we can resume routine operations as soon as conditions allow. In the meantime, we will continue to operate with the greatest consideration for the health of our staffs and applicants, and we ask for your patience and understanding
