Unforgettable things that happened in 2019

Today happens to be the last day in 2019, and as such we reflect on some unforgettable things that happened in 2019.

The year 2019 was a good one for some people but also bad for others. These good and bad moments cannot be forgotten and this article will touch on that.

This article will highlight a few events – right from the music industry to some personalities that social media gave birth to.

Stonebwoy pulls a gun on stage at VGMA

One of the events that took Ghana by storm was the escalation of the Shatta and Stonebwoy beef which led to the 2019 VGMA fracas.

We will never forget how Shatta Wale dramatically went on stage with thugs all in the name of congratulating Stonebwoy who in return pulled a gun on stage. The incident will be recorded in the history of Ghana music industry until heaven comes.

Stonebwoy makes peace with Shatta Wale

If there is one thing that we will never forget when we mention 2019, it will be the peace treaty/conference between Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale.

We all know how these two musicians have been fighting each other, both physically and spiritually – not forgetting musically. However, the year 2019 is the year that they finally sat down and made peace to the extent of exchanging pleasantries among other friendly gestures on social media and events.

Medikal and Strongman beef

The hottest lyrical beef ever in the history of Ghana within 72 hours that got the entire nation’s attention was Medikal and Strongman’s beef in 2019.

This beef took over social media and created factions – friends and enemies – on social media and in the music industry as some personalities chose sides.

As to who murdered who, the year 2019 records that Strongman released the hottest bars in the beef that transpired between himself and the AMG signee.

Shatta Wale – Beyonce feature

Another breakthrough that came in this year was Shatta Wale getting featured on Beyonce’s ‘Lion King: The Gift‘ project on a song dubbed ‘Already’.

That feature is one thing that the music industry in Ghana will always boast of as he emerged the only Ghanaian artiste to be featured on the project.

Also, it gave Shatta an uplift in the music industry, and we believe SM fans, in particular, will never forget that 2019 was the best year for Shatta.

Mr Eventuarry Becomes An International Star

An Efiekuma based taxi driver went viral on social media for uttering the word ‘eventually’ as ‘eventuarry‘ among other grammatical errors.

Known in real life as Patrick Mensah, Mr Eventuarry became one of Ghana’s social media sensation who was well known for his money laughter.

Patrick Mensah honoured an invitation to make a special guest appearance at Oxymoron, a popular Nigeria comedy show, hosted Kenny Blaq, a Nigerian comedian.

The Birth Of Shatta Bandle

As if we had not seen enough on social media, Ghana was blessed with another son who took Ghana and Nigeria by storm on social media – the brand Shatta Bandle was born in 2019.

Diminutive personality Shatta Bandle became popular on social and traditional media after he picked on millionaires Dangote, Osei Kwame Despite, Bill Gates, and Otedola.

Bandle often bragged about being the richest man in the world but could not fix his teeth. If there is one thing Ghanaians are as well not going to forget, its the birth of Shatta Bandle.

Sarkodie wins BET Hip Hop Award

Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie made history as he became the first Ghanaian and African to win the Best International Flow category at the BET Hip Hop Awards 2019.

One thing Ghanaian’s have been celebrating him for is the speech he gave whiles receiving the award in Atlanta.

This is one of the achievements we can never overlook whenever we mention or talk about 2019.

Emergence Of Ghana Jesus

2019 was the year of return and as such Ghana was not blessed with only tourists or American celebs, but also a Jesus.

2019 was indeed an interesting year as we also saw the emergence of Ghana Jesus – Mmebusem. Ghana Jesus became a viral comic show which won the hearts of Ghanaians.

Cardi B meet and greet

All over the world, especially on news portals, Cardi B’s meet and greet snub was headlined by the press.

It all happened when Cardi B decided to chew chinchinga instead of meeting and greeting Ghanaian celebs who had spent time waiting for her all day at the Kempinski hotel.

Ghanaians will never forget that in 2019 Cardi B snubbed the likes of Lydia Forson, Afia Schwar, Hajia4Real, Salma Mumin, Victoria Lebene, among others.

No VGMA Artiste Of The Year

Unfortunately in the entertainment history of Ghana, 2019 will be our first year of not having a VGMA Artiste of the Year.

This comes after two dancehall artistes, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale brought the entire event to an unexpected halt.

Because of their uncouth attitude this year we may not crown the most popular song of the year as well as the Artiste of the year award.
