TUTAG had withdrawn their services two days earlier after they accused government of failing to meet their side of negotiation, when they called off an earlier strike at the instance of NLC.

As part of Friday’s ruling, government has again been ordered to pay all arrears of the striking unions by Wednesday, January 29 without delay.

But speaking on TV3’s Midday Live on Monday, January 13, the National President of TUSAAG, Edem Kojo Honu, said the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the association is yet to sit on Friday’s decision.

According to him, there are even mistakes in the copy of ruling served the association and that “we are waiting for the corrected version”.

President of TUTAG at Kumasi Technical University Dr Smart Sarpong in an interview with 3news.com’s Ibrahim Abubakar on Monday said the decision to embark on strike was taken at congress, the association’s highest decision-making body, and that a decision to call it off will have to go through same body.

He said congress will convene on Thursday, January 16 to take a decision on the way forward.

He also complained of errors in the ruling by the Commission and assured that that will be tabled before congress on Thursday.

“We will still deliberate on it and communicate on the outcome to the general public.”
