Thursday, October 29 has been declared a public holiday by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
This holiday has been set aside to mark Eidul-Mawlid, a celebration that marks the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola made this announcement on October 27 while wishing all Muslims well for seeing this year’s Eid.
He entreated them to ensure the peace and security of the country is maintained by promoting “the spirit of love, patience and perseverance which are the virtues of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)”.
