The 44th president of the United States of America, Barack Obama, has confessed that his tenure in the office of the presidency nearly destroyed his marriage with the then-first lady, Michelle Obama.
Citing from his new 768-page memoir dubbed “A Promised Land”, the former first gentleman of the Land Of Liberty avowed how his 28-years and counting marriage to wife Michelle, 56 was razed down by his busy and always tight schedules.
As recounted by the staunch Democrat, a loy of the personal relationship he had with his close friends and relatives were ruined during his stay in the White House.
A line in his memoir reads; “I continued to sense an undercurrent of tension in her, subtle but constant, like the faint thrum of a hidden machine.”
Going forward, he also noted that Michelle also came under severe criticisms and also became a subject of “scrutiny and attacks.”
It was as if, confined as we were within the walls of the White House, all her previous sources of frustration became more concentrated, more vivid, whether it was my round the clock absorption with work, or the way politics exposed our family to scrutiny and attacks, or the tendency of even friends and family members to treat her role as secondary in importance
The most anticipated memoir will officially be released on sale on Nov. 17 2020.
