Elections 2020: Teachers declare their support for John Mahama ahead of 7th December

With just three days left for Ghanaians to go to the polls, this new development is certainly a heavy-painful blow which has just landed on the face of Nana Addo and the NPP.

A group aggrieved teachers in the Volta region have declared their support for John Mahama over Nana Addo’s failure to pay salary arrears owed them since 2012.

According to the spokesperson for these angry teachers, Mr Mathias Tulasi, over 63,000 facilitators haven’t received a dime in their bank accounts for the past 8 years and counting.

During a press conference in HO, he said;

President Nana Addo said that 95% of the legacy arrears were [paid]. But when the Minister of Education, Dr Mathew Prempeh addressed a conference of NPP Teachers Network here in Ho, he also mentioned that 91% of the legacy arrears were cleared. These contradictory positions by our leaders only show how deceptive this government has been as far as the intention to pay the legitimately owed legacy arrears to the affected teachers are concerned
