Earlier last week, Ghana Police Service disclosed that the Takoradi-based woman who allegedly faked her pregnancy and kidnapping has confessed that she was not pregnant.
In a Facebook post on Friday, the Ghana Police Service revealed that “the suspect, Josephine Panyin Mensah, 28, has confessed to the Police during further investigations and stated that neither was she pregnant nor ever being kidnapped.”
This comes after a preliminary investigation by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) revealed that the kidnapping of a pregnant woman in Takoradi is fake.
A second test conducted by the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital also confirmed that 28-year-old Josephine Panyin Mensah, who allegedly went missing, was never pregnant within the period.
The Acting Director-General of the Ghana Police Service’s Public Affairs Directorate said the results of the Western Regional Hospital affirms the previous outcome which was conducted by the medical doctors at Axim Government Hospital.
Today, Josephine Panyin Mensah will appear before the Takoradi Circuit Court to answer some questions.
