Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Livingstone Etse Satekla, mononymously known as Stonebwoy, has cried out to the sitting Akufo-Addo government to invest in the creative arts industry.
Stonebwoy was at the lauch of YEA where he called on Government to pay attention to how jobs can be created in the creative arts and entertainment industry at large.
On Wednesday, Government outdoored the Youth Employment Agency’s (YEA) Job Centre and three other supporting initiatives, to facilitate sustainable employment for both skilled and unskilled Ghanaian youth between the ages of 15 and 35 years.
The three other initiatives are Artisan Directory, Work Abroad Programme and Agriculture-based Flagship Project.
Stonebwoy speaking at the event said, “Political and ambassadorial influence, this is not about that as far as i am concerned. Because I am not an ambassador and i do not have to be an ambassador to be here and join in to this beautiful opportunity that Ghana has to offer the youth so may we all get involved beyond the artisan, the flagship and the other ones”
“As you see, i am a musician, and i want to send my simple plea that, there is so much job to made around the creative arts. Me as i roll out here I can count up to ten people employed around me,” he continued
“This is what we can also do indirectly so we will just urge that the government could also look at the creative arts sector beyond the artisan and whatever because it creates employment for people as well”, Gossips24 captured
